Intel Powerbook coming in January

Apple Computer could introduce its first laptop computers based on Intel chips as early as January, which, together with robust sales of video iPods, should drive earnings higher, Citigroup said on Wednesday. “We are becoming more convinced that Apple will introduce its first Intel-based PowerBook at Macworld San Francisco,”.

Linux-VServer allows you to create virtual private servers and security contexts which operate like a normal Linux server, but allow many independent servers to be run simultaneously in one box at full speed. All services, such as ssh, mail, Web, and databases, can be started on such a VPS, without modification, just like on any real server.

Motorola RAZR V3c Review

Make way for the Verizon RAZR. Compared to the original RAZR released last year, the V3c is considerably better, upgrading to a 1.3-megapixel camera, MP3 playing capabilities, EV-DO (Evolution for Data Optimized) high-speed access, and VCAST video service.

The problems with AJAX

Forbes.com has an interesting article on AJAX, in which it points out that 1)search engines have a hard time indexing AJAX sites, and 2) The fact that there are no “page views” on AJAX sites, it’s hard for site traffic analyzers to keep page-view counts, thereby creating problems for their advertising opportunities…

New Linux study suggests fundamental Microsoft creditability problems

Another day, another lame attempt by Microsoft to show that Windows is better than Linux.

This time around, Microsoft commissioned a study to show that Windows does a better job of serving e-commerce applications than Linux.

Done, of course, by a Microsoft partner…

and it only goes downhill from there.

AOL Spins Off Desktop Search Product

AOL search version 2.0 has been spun off as a standalone download with a revamped interface and support for removable media. AOL Desktop Search 2.0 indexes a variety of document types, emails, and even audio and video.

Match.com, is accused in a federal lawsuit of goading members into renewing their subscriptions through bogus romantic e-mails sent out by company employees. In some instances people on the Match payroll even went on sham dates with subscribers Yahoo is accused of posting profiles of fictitious potential dating partners
