The problems with AJAX

Forbes.com has an interesting article on AJAX, in which it points out that 1)search engines have a hard time indexing AJAX sites, and 2) The fact that there are no “page views” on AJAX sites, it’s hard for site traffic analyzers to keep page-view counts, thereby creating problems for their advertising opportunities…

  1. While search engines will have a problem with Ajax applications, there are solutions to Ajax and SEO.

    The biggest concern of mine is accessibility. There is only one way for script to be read and that’s via an alert box. JavaScript links are also inaccessible so form posts are needed too.

    Ajax certainly opens up a can of worms.
