The Public Patent Foundation has filed a request at the US Patent Office to revoke Compression Labs’ data compression patent, which it is reportedly using to harrass anyone that implements the JPEG format.

Match.com sued for sending its employees out as fake dates

Match.com is accused in a federal lawsuit of goading members into renewing their subscriptions through bogus romantic e-mails sent out by company employees. In some instances, the suit contends, people on the Match payroll even went on sham dates with subscribers as a marketing ploy…(filed under “bad” deals)

Place Outgoing Calls & Recieve Incoming Calls as Text with AIM.

Very fun, and useful in situations where you can’t make a voice call. Send an IM to “My IP Relay” Give the operator the phone number to call, what you want to say, and they will relay messages between phone and IM, free. Sort of like TTY.

Apple and Samsung negotiating mega flash memory deal

By end of November, Samsung is expected to sign a long-term, several hundred million dollar contract with Apple to supply flash chips for its iPod digital music players, Korean news provider edaily reported on its website on Tuesday.
